1. The Over the Knee Sock Boot
I know I harp on about the OKB but really I am still convincing clients and friends that these are the simplest answer to upgrade your look right now, AND before you ask, you can be over 40. Jimmy Choo does it (above) but here are the high-street versions.
But this party season we have the Over the Knee Sock Boot. The great thing about these boots are they come in an abundance of rich colours and fabrics so you can match the boot to your old dresses. They also come in velvet, silky fabrics and embroidey so it will give va va voom to your favourite LBD or give your old midi some edge. TIP: undo the buttons and show some leg.
2. Go large on earrings
I've always been a big earring fan loved a Pat Butcher sized earrings. This season large earrings are an easy way to add glamour last years lace top or cashmere polo neck . TIP: Let the earrings do the talking and avoid any necklaces.
The bobble hat has been replaced by the Beret. So much more chic and easier to wear. A modern Parisan style that you can choose in your favourite colour. Zara, TopShop and ASOS are great places to start. TIP: Choose your colour carefully. Red is best on me but black is chic so long as I have bright lips.
4. A bright mini cross bag
I have to admit, if I were to buy shoes or bags it would always be shoes, but I'm loving the small bright cross body bags out at the moment. Buy one in a bright pop of colour and this will brighten up your winter look. This is great way to add colour to a minimal look. TIP: look at your wardrobe of clothes and pick out a contrasting colour so the bag pops out!
I've yet to find my perfect handbag...on my wish list....well I've got to have a wish list too!!
