Get Coat Creative

January is a very strange month for buying and styling. So how do we get through the month feeling and looking fabulous? Well. My answer is a good coat to lift your wardrobe and when styled more creatively, fresh looks are formed.  So if you don't need to buy a coat here are some fresh inspiration to style them. (We may all own a leopard but bored of wearing it with leather or denim!)

I'm obsessed with buying coats and I find mid December and early January a brilliant time to invest. Start your daily styling from the outside and work in.

A pink coat is a fabulous colour to wear in January and throughout springtime. Pink is going to the new red in the spring time so invest. OR if you have a pink coat, clash over red and team with culottes and pointed ankle boots. Many women worry about unusual layering lengths but this look is very modern and the way to wear now.

 sport luxe fur

Many of us own a fur party coat but think we can't wear it at the weekend? I spotted this forest green faux fur at Anthropologie. Perfect for the party season but those sporty cuffs will allow you to team with jeans at the weekend too to keep you snug and happy through January. How to style? team underneath a fitted silhouette dress for the evening and with cropped flare jeans, bronze, mustard accessories at the weekend.

If you need a new look for your leopard then clash it with tartan. Leopard is now considered as a staple basic so why not clash it with check for a cool weekend style.

There is nothing more fabulously cool then white worn in the winter. This jacquard coat from Zara looks so expensive worn with winter whites and belted. Springtime you'll be wearing this with jeans and a white t-shirt but for now..this is so so fresh.

Leather trousers (or pleather if you prefer) are another one of my wardrobe staples and this floral coat is the perfect coverage for a dark wet day in January. It even comes in a handy pack a mac bag!
