Its true to say I’ve a talent working with old stuff. What I mean is, if you throw me in a room full of clothes I’ll be able to pull out the treasures and create some fabulous looks.
Without blowing my own trumpet, I’ve had this talent since I was a student and then turned it into a business in my 30’s. Its what I do when I visit peoples wardrobes and this month a charity shop asked me to do the same and present my collection to all their Regional Shop Managers.
So I spent a few hours upstairs in one of my favourite charity shop St Margarets Hospice, and found five incredible coats that are all very now.
The Vinyl Trench
The shiny vinyl trench. A nod to the 60s - this will add shine to your daily casuals. Looks great with hoodies or smarter blouses and denim.
The cape is a popular choice for designers like Celine below and on the high street at jigsaw.
the oversized trench
Wrap yourself up in an oversized trench on a rainy day. It feels snuggly, warm and looks so fabulously stylish hung over jeans or wide length trousers.
The classic grey frock coat
Grey is here to stay and so is the humble frock coat. A smart office cover up but if you invest can work wonders at the weekend with trainers. See here styled over fuchsia pink.
The collarless leather jacket
I’m feeling a move away from the biker. The buckles are a bit over done and detailed for this season. This great cropped, late 80’s Agnes B jacket feels fresh and smarter and teams so well with a roll neck.
Its not too dissimilar to this beauty by Loewe..
