DITCH THE BLING: GO A BIT ECO
2 weeks today many of us will be standing in a field in Glastonbury. I’m writing and its pouring outside.
I live 8 miles from Glasto and believe me the ground is wet.
The talk of ‘what you are wearing’ has become a big thing. Celebs photographed looking ultra cool has made jo-public feel the need to mirror - but flying in for 5 hours is not camping for 5 days.
But if you’ve been to Glastonbury, you’ll know surviving it takes over styling it out. Particularly if extreme weather kicks in. Ultimately the focus should be about having a good time.
Only this week Alexa Chung quoted style at Glastonbury
‘Its not about what your wearing its about being there’
- she’ll be rocking her new range for Barbour and looking effortlessly cool.
Recently, whilst styling clients Glastonbury looks, I discovered, there is pressure to look great. To be seen wearing the bling and donning the sequins. I’ve had to chill them out a little bit this year.
I urge you to ditch the bling and go a bit eco.
LESS IS MORE THIS YEAR BELIEVE ME.
I predict a the fashion set will be more understated, more utility, more sustainable style rather than all new gear bought in just for the weekend. That said, I’m not expecting you to rock up for a walk on Dartmoor - this is the Festival of Performing Arts..
Shop your wardrobe, shop vintage, and if you do buy new, buy something you will wear again and again and again.
