Let your blouse do the talking

Drinks Party small talk - eek! Not easy. There is also the slight dilemma of ‘what is everyone going to wear ?’ Will they go all out and a full on cocktail dress or can I go low key and wear jeans and nice top? eek - maybe that’s too casual!! You’d rather avoid the dress option but don’t want to be invisible ? the answer is go loud with a blouse. It’s a brilliant conversation starter ‘ooh I love our blouse, the colour is amazing! - check out those ruffles!, that colour is fab on you!’ With a loud blouse no one will notice you’ve got your best jeans on or even cigarette pants you’ve had for 5 years!

Top Tip. With a loud blouse you need to go big on the make up. Think party glam, great loud lips, smokey party eyes. Sleek straight hair looks sharp or create a curly glamour wave.

Earrings are important. Go as big as you can and keep the style in keeping with the blouse so you are framing your whole top half.

Here are my top favourite ones onsite right now. Perfect for party season - let you blouse do the talking and when Christmas is all over layer under your favourite knit to keep January jolly.

Here are some of my favourite.

Corsage Queen

Love how the corsage has made a comeback this season. This icy cool lilac is perfect for cool skin tones. I love it styled with black but silver trousers would work too. Nobody would forget you if you wore this number to the drinks party!

Edgy Print

I love this! I am amazed I’ve not bought it. Love the cats, love the pink and the green, love the graphic edge. Perfect party style teamed with leather or gold trousers, a leather mini skirt or under last years black velvet suit.

Diamanté Classic

The understated embellished blouse. Love it styled with silver jeans! Glam up your denim too or add a fine crew knit to reveal the amazing collars. Add diamanté' earrings for extra glamour.

Floral fancy

I bought this for my Autumn Edit in October but it removed it as it is quite marmite! I adore the 3D flowers, the texture and the volume of the sleeves. Perfect styled with warm pinks, khaki greens or a burgundy cord suit? Bonkers big earrings required to balance out the print.

Pink Sheer

This is the blouse you can wear at the party with black lacy bra or body underneath but also the blouse you can wear in January with a fine merino wool polo underneath. The sleeves would also style well with a cashmere sleeveless knit over it or even a velvet waistcoat.

Gothic Lace

I love how the big ruffles fall just over the bust. Perfect for those of you that need extra bust (me!!) The sheer v at the front is super sexy without showing too much flesh. Style with black denim, cord or velvet.

Dreamy cream

This looks expensive! Love the texture and the volume and the framing around the neckline. Style with statement gold earrings and classic cut trouser.
